#FoodieFriday – Red Wine Lava Brownies

Today’s recipe is Red Wine Lava Brownies – a post holiday shopping treat everyone deserves. This recipe is from the kitchen of Lindsay Hergert.  Lindsay is from Milton, WI and is the mother of three adorable little ones.  Her favorite Timber Hill Wine is the award- winning Marquette.  She created this recipe to satisfy her sweet tooth and her craving for Marquette.

Brownie Mix

6 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

2 tbsp. cocoa powder

1/2 c. granulated sugar

1/4 c. brown sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 c. Timber Hill Award Winning Marquette red wine

3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla extract

(You can also use a box of store bought brownie mix and substitute the wine for the water.)

 

Toppings

2 tbsps. orange zest

1/4 cup powdered sugar

handful of fresh raspberries

handful chopped semisweet chocolate chips

 

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 

Grease a 9-x-9″ baking dish with cooking spray.

Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Whisk in wine and sugars. 

Add eggs, one at a time, whisking well between each addition. 

Stir in flour, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt until just combined.

Pour brownie batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-22 minutes. 

Let cool completely. 

Sprinkle with powdered sugar, chopped chocolates, raspberries and orange zest.

 

Serve at room temperature with a glass (or bottle) of red wine and enjoy!
